The Convair XFY-1 is one of my favorites. In the mid-1960's I owned a small metal version of the same plane. While googling around to find it on ebay, I stumbled upon an assembled Lindberg 1/48 Kit, the 1987 Edition including the ladder, accurately made, with a well-made display base and acrylic glass case.
I didn't hesitate and I placed my offer. I do know that there's no way I could get any comparable result if I built the model myself. Considering how delicate an assembled model of that kind is, I collected it personally. The model has spring-damped wheels and operating contra-rotating propellers.

Essendo molto appassionato di aeronautica USA del periodo successivo alla II Guerra Mondiale (http://www.cesarebrizio.it/AAFC/index.html), apprezzo particolarmente i prototipi e gli aerei sperimentali.
Il Convair XFY-1 è uno dei miei preferiti. A metà degli anni '60 possedevo una piccola versione in metallo dello stesso aereo. Mentre cercavo su Google per trovarlo su ebay, mi sono imbattuto in un kit Lindberg 1/48 assemblato, l'edizione 1987 che include la scala, realizzata con cura, con una base da esposizione ben fatta e una teca in vetro acrilico.
Non ho esitato e ho fatto la mia offerta. So che non avrei potuto ottenere risultati comparabili se avessi costruito il modello da solo. Considerando quanto sia delicato un modello assemblato di quel tipo, l'ho ritirato personalmente. Il modello ha ruote ammortizzate a molla ed eliche controrotanti funzionanti.
