In the mid-1960's I owned several Matchbox models of the RW (Regular Wheels) series, plus a few of the first with the Superfast wheels. At the time, they were my favorite toys, and I have many fond memories. As usual for a kid of that age, I strived to extract the minute details by observing the toy cars attentively, and from time to time I still dream of finding the shoe box where I kept my small cars, subsequently lost during adolescence.
In the last few years, I began to buy the same models that I owned. In Europe, the reference provider is Carsten Oettler, with his shop Cars & Boxes. New Old Stock RW items in their original box are out of reach, and I prefer slightly playworn models, some of which I restored with spare parts easily available on ebay.
Mine is not meant as an exhaustive collection, and will grow slowly and discontinuously.
One of the most reliable information sources on the Matchbox models is the Matchbox Forum website.

In spring 2022, I acquired another lot of 29 models from Cars & Boxes, including another Lomas ambulance that I cannibalized to improve my previous purchase. As far as I can remember, the Lomas Ambulance (a gift by my grandmother Lina in 1964) was the first model car that I ever owned.
In August 2023, on the occasion of my relocation to Castello d'Argile, I purchased a 70 cm x 115 cm x 6 wall-showcase (branded "Alsino"). Originally conceived for H0 and N model trains, it's very robust and well-suited for all the classic 1/75 Matchbox models. Four sliding acrylic glass panes give access to a total of 16 shelves.
In December 2023, another lot of 16 models from Cars & Boxes was acquired, and some components from MK Modelcarparts where ordered, including the roof luggage pack for the Land Rover.
In September 2024, another lot of 23 models from Cars & Boxes was acquired, and more components from MK Modelcarparts where ordered.
In September 2024, four additional models from 1972-1973 were found in a flea market.
In October 2024, five old additional models from 1955-1959 were found in a flea market. Among them, a Meccano Dinky Dublo Massey-Harris Tractor (1958), number 069 of a collection of just 14 types, intended to work with 00-gauge Hornby Dublo railways.
On 8 March 2025, a 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud bought at a model fair in verona entered my collection.
At the end of March 2025, I purchased on eBay a lot of about twenty models from a British seller, full of interesting material from years before 1965.
In January 2026, I acquired a lot of 40 models from Cars & Boxes, including many interesting pre-1960 entries, and more components from MK Modelcarparts where ordered.

Models are listed by year - based on the year appearing on the bottom of the model. With the various kinds of Superfast wheels appearing since 1969, I am not actually sure (e.g., in case of the 1968 Volkswagen Sedan) whether or not earlier releases might have been retrofitted with superfast wheels in years subsequent to the one appearing on the model bottom.

I modelli sono elencati per anno - basandosi sull'anno che appare sul fondo del modello.
